How it works

One homework night, step by step, with the screens you will see.

See it in thirty seconds

  1. ١.كَتَبَ الطالبُ الدرسَ
  2. ٢.شَرِبَ الولدُ الحليبَ

A homework night, step by step

The four steps in detail, with the screens you will see.

1. Photograph the page

Keep the page flat and in good light. We first check that it is Arabic schoolwork: other photos are turned away. Then we read every word and every vowel mark.

The page

أَعْرِبْ ما تَحْتَهُ خَطّ:

  1. ١.كَتَبَ الطالبُ الدرسَ

2. We explain the rule to you, in your language

Before any question, you get the rule in Arabic, English or French, with an example from the page. Two minutes is enough.

The rule, for you

In a sentence that starts with a verbفعل, the doerفاعل ends in a damma ـُ and the objectمفعول به ends in a fatha ـَ.

3. You ask your child the hints, one at a time

Each question has three hints. You read one, your child answers, and the hint tells you what to listen for. The next hint only appears when you ask for it.

The first hint

Ask: who did the writing?
Listen for: الطالبُ (the student)

4. Only then, compare with the answer the teacher expects

When your child has given an answer, you tap to see the teacher's answer and the reason. Before that tap, it is not on the screen.

The answer stays hidden until your child has tried.

What happens when we are not sure

If the photo is unclear or two of our checks disagree, we do not guess. We show the rule only, and suggest you ask the teacher.

We're not fully sure about this one

The photo or the question is unclear, so we won't guess the answer. Here is what we can explain safely:

In a sentence that starts with a verbفعل, the doerفاعل ends in a damma ـُ and the objectمفعول به ends in a fatha ـَ.

Everything else you can do

Each one works the same way: a photo, a short explanation for you, and your child doing the thinking.

Explain a lesson

  1. Photograph the lesson in the textbook (up to three pages).
  2. Read what your child is learning, the rules with a coloured example, common mistakes and words to know.
  3. Tap any word to hear it, then practise with a few new sentences.

In every plan

Check their work (beta)

  1. Your child finishes the homework on their own.
  2. Photograph it: we read their answers.
  3. Each answer is "looks right" or "have another look", never the answer itself.

In the Family plan

Dictation

  1. Choose the text: we write one on a spelling rule, you photograph the teacher's text, or you type it.
  2. We read it phrase by phrase while your child writes. Pause, play again or slow down whenever they need.
  3. Photograph the page: we check each word, explain each mistake, and every word can be tapped to hear it.

In the Family Plus plan

Reading aloud

  1. Photograph the reading page.
  2. Listen to the whole text, or phrase by phrase, with pause, again and slow.
  3. Your child taps any word to hear it and repeats it.

In the Family Plus plan

Practice sentences

  1. We notice the rule your child slips on most.
  2. We write three new sentences on it.
  3. Your child picks the word; gentle feedback tells them why.

Sunday summary

  1. Every Sunday evening, a short email.
  2. How many pages, how many questions tried before the answer.
  3. What is worth practising next. You can turn it off.

In the Family plan

While you wait

  1. Reading a page takes a minute or two.
  2. Meanwhile, tap or drag the stick figure, or play a word game.
  3. The same game is there while your child writes the dictation.
